I see the white light on your skin
Indifference, anger, once again
Left beside this country road
With your sadness pressing on my soul-

Where fault and blame lay victim to
The reckless pride of all we knew
Before the dust storm choked our shouts
And the echoes of us faded out-

I waited close and watched the sighs
Saw the laughter leave your eyes
And I hid that darkest of my soul
Broken that you’d never know-

The deepest richest earth that lies
And germinates with passion’s cries
What you don’t want is all I have
To offer those who cross my path.
