Tender Mercies

Fallen back in velvet realms
Splayed fingers on his flank
The whispered roar of slowing pulse
Glazed porcelain flushed to pink-
And tangled limbs that overlay
One another in the dark-
That moonlight mercif’ly smooths and stays-
What day reveals as stark-
The trails of fire touch ignites
The taste of russet kiss-
Cascades of hair around her face-
He takes and makes her his;
Eyes like stars, an angel’s touch-
Colours the color of mist-
Her fingers splayed upon his flank
Still tasting of russet kiss.
